Maurice Terzini launches residency at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay hotel

With a brief to attract increased custom and revenue to under-performing food and beverage spaces, Projects of Place worked with the new owners of the InterContinental Sydney Double Bay hotel to create a strategy that would elevate and activate the hotel’s food and beverage offerings from morning to night, including the restaurant, bar, rooftop bar and in-room experience.

In partnership with restaurateur, entrepreneur and recently crowned ‘Icon of Industry’ Maurice Terzini, the hotel’s food and beverage offering was evolved and elevated with the opening of The Bar, a classic cocktail and supper club inspired by the great hotel bars of London, Rome, Paris and New York.

Glamour and sophistication arrived in the form of martini trolley bars, table side service, and a decadent cocktail and food menu, plus nightly piano and jazz performances.

The hotel’s rooftop pool bar and in-room dining offerings also received the Terzini treatment, bringing a fresh perspective to the spaces informed by how the customer experiences them.

Since launching in June, The Bar has received outstanding national and international media attention with Sydney Morning Herald Good Food recently naming it it’s list ’20 of The Best Bars in Sydney’ and winning Hotel Bar of the Year at HM Awards for Excellence 2022.

Projects of Place oversaw the creation and delivery of the vision and strategy, brand, communications, marketing, partnerships and activation. The hotel bar and dining has fast become popular with hotel guests as well as the local community, achieving record profits in just four weeks.
